Meet the Founder of Live Lean 365

 

My name is James Gaida.  I am the head coach and creator of Live Lean 365.  I've been a coach and entrepreneur in the fitness and nutrition industry for over 20 years and have worked with thousands of people along the way.  

Despite working in health & fitness for over 2 decades and supposedly "knowing what to do", through most of my adult life as I got busy with family and business, I simply could not prevent weight gain.  Worse yet, as I got older, I began to significantly struggle to take it off.  

With my busy and stressful schedule, the "dieting" was getting tougher to do and less effective when I did do it.  When I was able to grind through yet another extreme diet and lose some weight, it would come right back on within a few months of being "back to normal life".......this is the roller coaster of fat loss/fat gain/fat loss/fat gain that most of us go through and I'm guessing you can relate?  It is frustrating and it is exhausting. 

Then I cracked the code....

Live Lean 365 Was Born

Live Lean 365 was developed partly by accident (although an educated accident). 

You see, I've always been a voracious reader of anything nutrition and was always dreaming of finding that "magic bullet" of ending the fat loss/fat gain roller coaster. 

For many years my search for that "magic bullet" always lead me to the next fad diet or the next exclusionary methodology.........keto, intermittent fasting, vegan, carnivore, paleo etc. 

Although, I would see results initially, these methods all inevitably failed me and over and over again I see these methods fail for others.

There are a number of reasons why they fail, but one of the primary reasons is a result of the 1 thing that causes all "diets" to eventually fail you.............lack of long-term compliance. 

It is just too hard to live a normal life when the list of things you can't eat is significantly longer than the list of things you can.........and you gain the weight back, often gaining more back than you originally lost. 🙁

My frustration lead me to start digging deeper.  Digging deeper than simply picking up the newest book on the latest diet fad or watching the "mind-blowing" documentary that is spewing out all sorts of "facts" and "sciency things" to convince you to go vegan.

I instead I took a deep dive into physiology or the science of how our body actually works and started to look at what the research was actually saying...........not cherry-picking studies to prove my own bias, but instead looking at all the data to see what the majority of the research was telling us about how the body not only loses fat but maintains a lean state.

As I was in the midst of doing this deep dive, and uncovering the biological truths of our body, I abandoned many of my old "fad-diet-based" beliefs about nutrition and fat loss.  I took a 180 degree turn on some of those most deeply held beliefs on nutrition.......and my body started to respond.......dramatically. 

I started losing body fat will relative ease.

I noticed my cravings and emotional need to gorge myself on garbage food began to get less and less. 

My energy began to grow and became consistently high from the time I woke up to the time I was getting ready for bed. 

I started feeling great and loving the man in the mirror. 

So, what did I change?  

=> I began eating 4-5X more carbohydrates everyday (another massive leap of faith) 

=> I increased my daily calorie goal by a whopping 50% (scary) 

=> I no longer worried about excluding entire food groups from my diet 

And then a complete change in my focus.

 

The biggest change I made..........I began really focusing on my health.  I stopped trying to lose body fat by any means possible (which was often not a "healthy" way to lose fat) and instead focused on being healthier on the inside.   

This focus on health lead me to zero-in on strategies to optimize my gut health, sleep, stress management, calorie intake, protein consumption, hydration and micronutrient intake.   

In doing so, I began building a Foundation of Health for myself, that would allow for the systems of my body to function optimally.  Systems such as my metabolism/ fat loss system, energy system, hormone system and nervous system were finally getting what they needed to function optimally.    

I was able to burn fat, I was experiencing less cravings and I was feeling energized.....that was in 2021 and now a few years later I haven't gained anything back, not a single pound.  I have created a new set point for my body weight and body fat percentage and it is locked in!  I'm not going back! 

Through my journey I discovered perhaps, what I should have already known.  Science already had given us the solution and all I needed to do all along was to look at fat loss from a physiological and biological perspective.  The solution to getting off the roller coaster was without a doubt to build a Foundation of Health to optimize the systems in my body allowing the fat to come off and stay off...........and Live Lean 365 was born.
